No breaks in concentration

11 December 2015

Carlos Carvalhal says he wants no breaks in concentration.

The head coach has maintained from day one that the next game is always the most important.

Wednesday head to Cardiff this weekend and all the focus is on the Bluebirds clash.

He explained: “What we are doing this season is all because we have a strong group.

“Everybody understands exactly what we want from me and my staff and we are working a lot.

“The players work hard to win the points since the first and last second of the Championship.

“When we lose this kind of vibe, our team will not win.

“If you lose concentration and start thinking beyond Cardiff and we start thinking what we will do after three weeks or one month, we disturb the concentration and our team will not go the same way.

“That is absolutely sure.”

Sixth-placed Cardiff represent a stern test for the Owls and have lost just one game all season on home soil.

That is the challenge for Wednesday this weekend, who know three points would see them climb into the top six heading into the festive fixture period.

Carlos continued: “It’s up to me as the coach to keep everyone’s feet on the floor and say we are here to try to win all the matches we have.

“We will go to Cardiff to try to win. We always only focus on the next game.”
