Opposition view: ‘We face a dangerous Sheffield Wednesday’

5 December 2015

Derby boss Paul Clement says his in-form Rams will have to be at their best to gain a result a Hillsborough.

The Rams have won ten of their last 13 games, tasting defeat just once against big rivals Nottingham Forest.

But heading into Sunday’s showdown at Hillsborough – where the Owls have lost just one game all season – Clement says his side will have plenty to deal with on the day.

He told dcfc.co.uk: “I think it’s unusual to have a run playing so many sides in and around us in consecutive games - but it’s a good challenge for us.

“We’ve come through the first two well, winning against Cardiff City and Hull City, and now we face a very dangerous side in Sheffield Wednesday.

“I went to see them in the Capital One Cup against Stoke City in midweek and although they will be disappointed with the defeat they have match-winners in their side.

“They did well against a Premier League side and we also saw that when they played Arsenal a few weeks ago in the same competition.

“They have fantastic support and I think the atmosphere will be very good; we have to deal with that.

“We will have to be at our best, like we were at Hull, to get a result at Hillsborough.”
