Palmer goes back to school

3 December 2015

Owls right back Liam Palmer went back to his old school to meet sports students who have shown an incredible commitment and achievement to physical education.

Liam visited his former school, Outwood Academy in Worksop, and helped out by giving out awards to the students, taking photos and signing autographs and even gave a talk about his time at the school and how he has become a successful sportsperson.

Kieran Loftus, Head of PE at Outwood Academy, said: ”Liam was a superb guest and he met some of his old teachers. He gave an insight in to what is required to become a professional footballer in a question and answer session. He had pictures with the students which they all very much appreciated. A huge thank you to Liam!”

Liam tweeted after the event: “Great evening going back to my old school for the student’s sports awards tonight. Congratulations to everyone. It’s amazing to see so many achieving great things in a range of sports. Nice to see some old faces too!”

Well done to all students at Outwood Academy and we hope some of you follow in Liam’s footsteps!
