Wednesday kick off a hectic period of festive fixtures on Sunday at Hillsborough.
The Owls hosts one of the division’s promotion favourites Derby County at 1.15pm and captain Glenn Loovens is ready for the games to begin.
Wednesday have six league fixtures to negotiate in 22 days throughout December and Loovens said:
“There are a lot of games coming up.
“We all know what December is about. It is game after game after game but it is the same for everyone.
“We just have to look forward to each game and Derby is the first one.”
The skipper is keen to get back to league matters following the Capital One Cup exit to Stoke on Tuesday and he continued:
“People are talking about Sheffield Wednesday again and that is a good thing. The vibe around the club is positive and we have to keep that going.
“We played some big teams and put in some great performances.”
