Jeremy Helan said the best is yet to come from the Owls after they beat Birmingham 3-0 at Hillsborough on Boxing Day.
Fernando Forestieri grabbed a brace, striking either side of a Kieran Lee goal to secure three points for the Owls in their last home game of 2015.
Helan said: “It always good when the team is scoring goals, but even more importantly, we aren’t conceding many either.
“In the summer we had a new manager and new players, but we look like a team that has played together for two years.
“When you have people like Forestieri, flair players with skills, they can be the difference to the team.
“We are playing well but the best is yet to come.”
The Frenchman came on as a substitute in the win against the Blues and his pace added a new dimension to a game already in Wednesday’s control.
He added: “I am happy when the team is happy.
“The whole squad is happy right now and we are doing everything well.
“We now need to focus on recovery for the next game because we only have two days before Middlesbrough.”
