The PFA Championship Fans’ Player of the Month award has landed at Hillsborough for the third successive month.
With Ross Wallace and Fernando Forestieri winning the September and October awards respectively, Lucas Joao has scooped the prize for November.
The striker was originally named as one of 12 potential candidates to land the prize and made the top three after the first round of voting.
Joao had strong competition from Leeds United’s Alex Mowatt and Derby County’s Andreas Weimann but has come out on top of the pile!
Joao – the Owls’ top scorer with seven goals – scored three times in November.
Trailing 1-0 against Huddersfield at Hillsborough, the Portuguese international scored two goals to help turn the game in favour of the Owls, with Kieran Lee also on target.
One week later, the 22-year-old was back on the scoresheet, this time heading home a late equaliser in the 2-2 draw at Ewood Park.
