Academy left frustrated

2 February 2015

Wednesday's Under-18s were left frustrated once more by inactivity last weekend after losing another game to the inclement weather.

The Owls were scheduled to play Nottingham Forest in the Midlands but freezing conditions put paid to the league clash.

The academy calendar all over the country was blighted by the weather, which also claimed training sessions of the younger age groups.

The Under-18s, though, managed to get through their training schedule, albeit without a game at the end of the week.

But all was not lost, as coach Steven Haslam explained:

“It’s a frustrating time as we've lost games due to the bad weather but the boys have been pushed in training to make sure they are ready to play.

“Some of the Under-18 players have featured for the Under-21s in recent weeks which has been good for them and hopefully our game at Coventry on Saturday will get the go-ahead as we look to kick on in the second half of the season.”
