Boro back for revenge

27 February 2015

Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka has said the defeat to Wednesday back in August at The Riverside was his side’s worst performance of the season.

The Owls stunned Boro on their own patch and stormed into a 3-0 lead after 57 minutes.

Goals from Atdhe Nuhiu (2) and Stevie May sealed the victory and Karanka is hoping to lay the ghost of the 'worst' hour of his tenure this weekend.

He told Middlesbrough’s official website: “It’s another tough game. They beat us at the Riverside in August.

“That was one of the worst games we’ve played this season but now we’re in February and are much better than we were back then.

“I’m confident in the team because we won on Tuesday after losing to Leeds.

“It’s going to be difficult. We had a game on Tuesday, so it’s our third in a week but that’s not a problem because I have a lot of players.”
