Keep believing

14 February 2015

  • Owls and Brighton draw 0-0
  • Wednesday dominated S6 clash
  • Stuart Gray urges belief

Stuart Gray has urged the players and supporters to keep believing following the goalless draw with Brighton at Hillsborough on Saturday.

Wednesday created plenty of chances against the Seagulls but drew another blank.

On the other side of the coin, the hosts posted another clean sheet at the back.

And Gray said: “We have to keep believing. We had chances in the first half and chances in the second half and I would be concerned if that wasn’t the case.

“Their keeper made three crucial saves and we are all frustrated again. We will keep at it, keep believing and if that means working even harder, than so be it.

“We kept another clean sheet, though, and that’s a boost for Keiren Westwood and the defence.”

The Owls head to Derby next week and Gray remains confident in his side’s ability to get back to winning ways.

He added: “I have every confidence in this group of players.

“I said I was looking for a reaction following what I thought was a very disappointing performance at Ipswich in midweek.

“The improvement I saw today was 100% and we need to take that kind of effort and commitment into the game at Derby next week.”
