Matt Young is making positive strides during his loan spell with Carlisle United.
The defender signed for the Cumbrians in January on an emergency loan deal but has since extended his spell at Brunton Park on a half season loan deal.
Young has made seven appearances in League Two, storing 90 minutes on each occasion and Development Squad coach Lee Bullen is delighted with Matt’s progress.
“He is really enjoying himself,” Bullen said. “The loan move has been a real eye opener for him.
“Carlisle’s results have improved and I’ve spoken to a few people up there who have said Matt is well thought of and has done well.
“Until you’ve played first team football, you have no idea how youngsters are going to react but Matt has acquitted himself well.
“For me, that’s me doing the job right. As much as I want us to perform well and win games at Under-21 level, I want the likes of Matt to go and get games under their belt.”
