Owls and Leeds share the spoils

17 February 2015

The Owls Under-21s played out their first goalless draw of the campaign on Tuesday against Leeds United at Elland Road.

Leeds were first to show in the Professional Development League 2 contest with Lewis Walters striking from the edge of the box but Cameron Dawson made a smart save before Adryan volleyed just wide for the hosts.

Just after the half hour mark, Paul Corry went agonisingly close but struck the crossbar 25 yards from goal and Jonathan Fusco forced a fine save from Stuart Taylor from range.

After the break, Adryan attempted the spectacular from 35 yards with Dawson off his line but the Wednesday product was able to adjust and gather the ball.

Dawson was called into action 15 minutes from time, saving Adryan’s header on the line from Walters’ centre.

Wednesday almost won the game at the last but Taylor - at full stretch – pushed Fusco’s effort wide of the upright.
