Sheffield FC has formed a partnership with Sheffield College and Sheffield Wednesday Football Club to run a Girls Football Scholarship programme, starting in September 2015.
The club are now on the search for new recruits and are having an open day on Tuesday 10 February at 6:00pm at the Sheffield Wednesday ground.
The club are looking to take on female footballers to take part in the programme which will run alongside the student’s educational classes delivered by the Sheffield Wednesday Education Programme.
Students interested in the scholarship can choose to study either A Level PE or BTEC Sport Level 3 (although this is not compulsory) with the training schedule set up in such a way that the footballers can choose any A Levels they wish (timetable permitting).
The students will be coached a minimum of three times a week by Sheffield FC coaches at Sheffield College and will have weekly fixtures on a Wednesday afternoon in the English Colleges League.
Coaches from Sheffield FC will also run fixtures and accompany the students to the games.
