Owls impress at Huddersfield

11 February 2015

The Owls’ Development Squad posted one of their most impressive performances and results of the season at Huddersfield on Wednesday afternoon.

Lee Bullen’s side emerged 2-0 winners from the league game in West Yorkshire, with goals either side of half time from Rhys McCabe and Simon Hanna.

And the Wednesday coach was hugely satisfied with the way the players approached the game and their display in it.

He said: “All the players can give themselves a big pat on the back.

“Individually and collectively, they were an absolute credit. It was an outstanding performance.

“Huddersfield have been the benchmark at this age-group for some time and have had something of a hold over us and other teams.

“But we were so good today and totally deserved the win.

“Huddersfield’s team was made up of young players and we played three seniors in Kamil Zayatte, Rhys McCabe and Paul Corry but we had two scholars so it kind of evened itself out.”
