Will Keane is hoping his maiden professional goal will prove the first of many.
The Wednesday loanee from Manchester United slotted home a second half penalty to earn the Owls a 1-1 draw against Cardiff on Saturday.
With his side trailing 1-0, Keane had no hesitation in stepping up to do the honours after new recruit Sergiu Bus was felled in the area.
Keane said: “It was massive for me to get the goal and I knew I wanted to take the penalty, I was confident.
“When a chance like that I knew I wanted to take it and see it go in the back of the net. Hopefully I can get underway and get a few more goals now.
“It was a tough game on Saturday. We knew going into the game it was going to be another battle.
“Before the second half we pushed on and felt that the fans got right behind us and I was glad to get the goal to get us into the game.
“It was just unfortunate to not get a winner.”
