Haslam said: “I thought we started the game really bright and that we should have been two or three goals up in the first half.

“We let the tempo drop towards the end of the first half but credit to the boys because they came out after half time and put on a good show.

“I thought our boys represented the club really well. Under provocation in the second half, they kept their dignity.

“They didn’t react to the challenges and intimidation the opposition threw at us, so from that point of view I am really proud.

“I thought the goal we scored was top notch, one and two touch all the way and a brilliant finish.”
