The Owls’ academy players and staff are chomping at the bit for their season to resume following an extended and enforced recess.
The Christmas period saw the traditional shutdown of fixtures, before Wednesday were due back in action last Saturday hosting Barnsley.
But a frozen pitch put paid to the derby clash, leaving a frustrated S6 camp.
Coach Steven Haslam told swfc.co.uk: “We were disappointed to have the game called off against Barnsley as the boys are eager to get playing again after their Christmas break.
“We must look ahead to Saturday now and we're expecting a tough game against Leeds.
“Hopefully the boys will put in a similar display to when we beat them 3-1 at home in November, which was possibly our best performance of the season.”
