Giles Coke’s stunning finish at Brighton on the opening day of the 2014/15 campaign has been voted as Wednesday’s Goal of 2014.
As the Football League search for their Mitre Goal of the calendar year, Coke’s winning strike at The Amex will be the Owls’ nomination.
After industrious work from Jacques Maghoma down the left, the winger teed up Coke who hit an unstoppable curling effort into the top corner.
The goal was enough to secure three points and the first travelling triumph of the new season.
The result of the vote was as follows:
Giles Coke v Brighton - 32%
Joe Mattock v Bolton - 24%
Chris Maguire v Barnsley – 18%
