Stuart Gray reflected on the goalless draw with Birmingham and said it was a similar story at Hillsborough on Tuesday.
The Owls controlled much of the contest and created chances but fell short in front of goal, leaving the head coach frustrated.
He said: “The pitch was difficult and when it plays like that, you have to get the ball between the posts and we did that but didn’t score the goal.
“It’s games like that when you have to nick a winner, especially at home, but we couldn’t manage it and had to settle for a point.
“It’s disappointing because we have dominated a lot of the game but credit to Birmingham, they have come here and put men behind the ball and go home with a point.
“On the plus side, it’s another clean sheet and we go to Reading on Saturday looking to continue our excellent form away from home.”
