The Sheffield Wednesday Girls and Womens' Development team took part in the area finals cup tournament which saw them gain experience and exposure to competitive football.
After winning the local girls cup held at Hillsborough College in November, the club’s women’s development team travelled to the Derby Soccerdome which saw them compete in the Area Finals of the tournament.
The team competed against others from the North of England however they were knocked out at the group stages after finishing fourth in the league.
Helen Shepherd, the Girl’s and Women’s Development Officer, said: “The day was a great experience for the girls.
“Every single one of the girls represented Sheffield Wednesday and their school excellently and they should be very proud of themselves because I know I am.
“I would like to say a big thank you to the girls for coming and good luck in the future with their football careers.”
