Helan looks forward to Etihad challenge

2 January 2015

Former Manchester City man Jeremy Helan says Wednesday will give the FA Cup clash with Manchester City everything, as the Owls visit the Premier League champions on Sunday.

For the second time this season, Wednesday have been drawn away at The Etihad in cup competition.

After a heavy defeat last time around in the Capital One Cup, Helan says the pressure is on the hosts to advance but the Frenchman is looking forward to the challenge.

He told swfc.co.uk: “They are a great team and probably the best in England but we will go there and try our best.

“We shouldn’t go over there like we have lost the game already because we have got every chance to do something.

“Last time they beat us and we went on a difficult run but that is in the past.

“Everyone expects Manchester City to win this game so the pressure is on them to do that.

Helan, who made one appearance for the blues during his time at The Etihad, added: “I’m going to go there as a Sheffield Wednesday player and help try to get a good result.”
