Maghoma says Owls are brimming with confidence

  • Confidence high as Wednesday climb the table
  • Bolton next-up at Hillsborough

Wednesday forward Jacques Maghoma says the squad are brimming with confidence.

After five wins from seven Championship games and running Premier League champions Manchester City right to the last in the FA Cup, Maghoma has hailed Wednesday’s current run of form.

The former Burton Albion man was a thorn in the side of Nottingham Forest from the first minute during the 2-0 win at The City Ground.

But personal performance aside, Maghoma was just delighted to add another three points to the board.

He told swfc.co.uk: “We took a lot of confidence from the Man City game and playing against the champions and top players.

“We brought that to Forest and it showed all throughout the game, particularly in the second half.

“We work hard for each other and defended well as a team.

“I had a few shots blocked and things were going well for me personally but we won the game, that was the main thing and we enjoyed the celebrations at the end.”

The key thing now, according to Maghoma, is that Wednesday maintain their high standards and continue their climb up the division.

“The most important thing was to get the points and push on for next weekend against Bolton.

“We managed to put in a great performance and now we need to keep going.”
