Mani makes Spireites debut

22 January 2015

Owls striker Mani Dieseruvwe made his Chesterfield debut last weekend after signing on loan for the League One side.

The 19-year-old came on from the bench in the last ten minutes during the Spireites' defeat at Swindon and is determined to make the most of his youth loan deal.

He said: “I think I’ve settled in well.

“Training has been good and I just want to get my head down, train well, work hard and try and get a chance in the team.

“In the games that I’ve watched, the lads play good football and it will be good to be involved in something like that.”

Dieseruvwe joined Chesterfield in hot form for the Owls Under-21s and the youngster is hoping to take that run into his spell in League One.

He added: “I started scoring a few goals and when the chance at Chesterfield came around in League One, I thought it was a big opportunity.

“I’m always optimistic and feel like however the game is going, I might get a chance to come on. You’ve got to be ready and I’m always ready for that.

“Armand Gnanduillet and Eoin Doyle are on fire at the moment so I’ve got to do a lot in training to challenge them.”
