Opposition view: Grounds looks to Hillsborough trip

26 January 2015

Birmingham City ran their local rivals close in the FA Cup on Saturday but Premier League side West Brom advanced with a 2-1 win.

Blues goalscorer Jonathan Grounds believes his side can take positives from the game ahead of their trip to Hillsborough on Tuesday.

Birmingham’s fortunes have been reversed under manager Gary Rowett and the club have won eight from the last 14 games in all competitions.

Grounds said: “Coming up against a Premier League team and putting in that performance is a really good positive to carry into Tuesday night.

“We have been going well in the league, hopefully we can carry our second half performance into Tuesday night and go and get a good result.

“The manager is really level-headed and keeps us that way. A win is a win and a defeat is a defeat, he doesn’t get too carried away either way.

“We can go there with confidence, our away form has been very good and the way we set up really suits the players we have got.

“We do a lot of work on the training ground the way we want to play and hopefully going into Tuesday night we can put those methods into practice.”
