- Owls defeated but emerge with credit
- Manchester City taken to the wire
- Travelling fans do Wednesday proud
Stuart Gray has hailed the Owls’ away support as ‘outstanding’.
Wednesday were backed by a travelling contingent of 5,500 at Manchester City, who edged into the fourth round of the FA Cup courtesy of a late double from James Milner on Sunday.
Atdhe Nuhiu had given the visitors a first half lead but the Owls were ultimately gallant in defeat.
Gray said: “The supporters were just outstanding and like the players, they deserved to see Manchester City back at Hillsborough in a replay.
“It wasn’t to be but I am so proud of our supporters. We really couldn’t ask for anything more.
“They have followed us in their droves all season and I can’t thank them enough.”
