Owls players support NCS project

22 January 2015

Sheffield Wednesday players have shown their support to a National Citizen project, a programme that works with young people in the area.

Last Saturday’s match against Bolton saw Owls players wear specially made National Citizen Service (NCS) t-shirts during warm up to show their support for the programme.

NCS is a government-funded youth programme designed to bring together people aged 15-17 from a wide range of backgrounds and teach them how to communicate and work as a team while contributing to their local community.

The support comes as a new partnership between the club’s Community Programme and Longley Park Sixth Form College will see students from the college participate in the project.

Owls left back Joe Mattock met some NCS participants before the match to show his support.

Owls NCS ambassadors, Liam Palmer and Glenn Loovens, have also shown their backing to the initiative.
