The Owls host a new Development Centre at Armthorpe Academy, Doncaster, this week with the aim to unearth local professional footballers of the future.
The centre and sessions will be facilitated by fully qualified UEFA ‘A’ and ‘B’ licensed coaching staff.
The sessions begin this Friday, 9 January, with the following timings:
Under 7s – Under 8s – 5.00pm to 6.00pm
Under 9s – Under 10s – 6.00pm to 7.00pm
Under 11s – Under 12s – 7.00pm to 8.00pm
Head of coaching at the Owls’ academy, Neil Thompson, said: “The primary purpose is to spread our existing networks and build on the strong foundations in place.
“In Daral Pugh and Graham Amery, we have two of our top-class academy coaches taking the sessions, so they know exactly the standard required.
“If they see the necessary potential in a young player, the opportunity exists for a recommendation into the Sheffield Wednesday academy, which is a terrific incentive.”
The cost per session is £5 but parents are advised to make a block booking to guarantee your child’s place.
