Following yesterday’s announcement of an agreement with Thai investor Dejphon Chansiri to take control of the club, David Blunkett has hailed the hard work of Milan Mandaric.
The MP for Sheffield Brightside & Hillsborough has said Wednesdayites owe ‘a debt of gratitude’ to the outgoing chairman.
“I believe we owe Milan Mandaric a debt of gratitude for saving the club from administration, for introducing strong management and financial controls and above all for caring about the fan base, the club and our city,” he told ITV.
“I feel sure that he will have impressed on the new owners the nature of the dedicated Wednesday fans, their unwavering commitment and their fortitude.
“I look forward very much to seeing the new leadership of the club invest not merely financially but in time and dedication to our wonderful club and to the essential part that Sheffield Wednesday plays in the life of the city.”
