The Owls’ academy youngsters reported back for New Year training in good shape and looking forward to the remainder of the campaign.
The Under-18s host local rivals Barnsley on Saturday week, with preparation for the game well underway following the holiday recess.
Coach Steven Haslam told swfc.co.uk: “The players had a break from their training and games programme over the Christmas period.
“For our non-local scholars, this enabled them to spend time with their families for the first time in quite a while.
“As always, we stressed the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and returning to training in good condition so they are able to hit the ground running and impress the coaching staff in the second half of the season.”
Haslam added: “To monitor their physical condition, all players were tested before Christmas on endurance, strength and body composition and individually tailored programmes were given to each player to follow.
“Pleasingly, the players reported back with good levels of fitness and we are now looking forward to our first game of 2015 when we play Barnsley at Middlewood Road on Saturday 17 January.”
