Eleven young Owls fans yesterday got to enjoy a once in a lifetime opportunity to lead out Wednesday out at The Etihad yesterday as they played Manchester City in the FA Cup third round.
The young fans, who were all either Junior Season Ticket Holders or Junior Members, were given the chance after they entered a competition on the Owls Official Facebook page.
The mascots enjoyed the day by walking the team out of the tunnel and meeting plays from both sides.
Adding to their experience, the fans also got to enjoy a game of their own against the opposition’s mascots at half time.
Marcus Brameld, Community Manager at The Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme, said: “We’re so pleased to be able to offer opportunities like this to our young fans. It’s something they’ll never forget and a chance only a few are given.
“We’re always wanting to embed ourselves with the community as much as possible and this is a prime example of that. We’re glad the mascots enjoyed their day!”
