Grassroots Community Scheme 2015/16

Sheffield Wednesday are delighted to confirm details for the Grassroots Community Programme Scheme for the 2015/16 season, which will see hundreds of young people become central to the club’s matchday activities.

The Grassroots Community Programme Scheme invites groups of youngsters of all backgrounds to engage with Sheffield Wednesday, who will offer significant benefits via the project in return, including discounted match tickets with cashback for junior clubs and money can’t buy experiences on the Hillsborough pitch.

Sign up your local sports club, youth group or school to the scheme and juniors, coaches and parents can enjoy a host of benefits as a result.

For just £20, you can take part in a range of exclusive matchday activities including a junior football coaching session, stadium tour and half time parade. Included is your South Stand match ticket, copy of the programme and food for the juniors.

If you don’t want to take part in our matchday activities you can apply for the ticket only package where adults can get tickets for just £20 and juniors for just £5 and then receive cashback for your club, school or organisation.

Juniors on the full day package will be able to participate in a range of exclusive pitch activities during their matchday experience at Hillsborough, including:

The chance to enjoy exclusive behind the scenes mini stadium tours

Taking part in a two-hour pre-match coaching session at the SWFC training ground

And depending on availability one of the following pre match experiences:

Forming the Guard of Honour as the team walk out onto the pitch

Walking out onto the pitch with an Owls player as a Player Escort.

Shaking the giant Sheffield Wednesday shirt in the centre circle in the build-up to kick-off

Whilst all Juniors on the full day package and ticket only scheme can join the Team Parade walking around the pitch at half time and be welcomed by thousands of Owls supporters.

Sheffield Wednesday’s Chief Operating Officer Paul Bell said: “Our Grassroots Community Scheme was a big success last season as hundreds of youngsters were able to take part in matchday experiences which I am sure they will never forget.

“We continue to enhance the strong family values of our club and the Grassroots Community Programme Scheme provides the perfect platform.

“First and foremost, we are embracing the young people within our community by giving them the chance to attend matches with their team mates or class mates and in addition, giving those youngsters the opportunity to be part of the matchday itself.

“We are proud to host this project for another season and hopefully look forward to its success for many years to come.”

The Sheffield Wednesday Grassroots Community Programme Scheme is guaranteed to create memories to last a lifetime with juniors and family members alike and is open to all applicants.
