Hungry to succeed

3 July 2015

Having secured a season-long loan to Wednesday, Jack Hunt has spoken of his hunger to impress at Hillsborough.

The Crystal Palace man joined the Owls on Friday to bolster the squad of new head coach Carlos Carvalhal.

And Hunt is excited by the fresh challenge awaiting in S6.

He said: “I can’t wait. It’s a great time to be signing just as the lads have come back for pre-season training.

“We’ve been working hard over the last couple of days to get the deal done and I’m delighted we are there.

“I’ve played at Hillsborough before and I’ve always been impressed by the place, the atmosphere and size of the club.

“I know all about the takeover and the ambition the chairman has for the club and I’m really excited to be part of it.”

Hunt is an attacking right back who prides himself on the ability to get up and down the flank.

The Yorkshireman also welcomes the competition in the ranks at his new employers.

He added: “Competition for a place is everything. I am not the kind of player to take anything for granted, I like to earn a place in the team and that comes through hard work.

“I like to get forward and work the flank but ultimately I will do whatever is required for the team and the squad.

“This is a new era for Sheffield Wednesday with the new coach and the new chairman and I want to repay the club’s faith in me.”
