Carlos Carvalhal was pleased with the progress of his new charges following the 1-0 win at Ilkeston FC on Wednesday.
The Owls ran through the gears in Derbyshire and showed a marked improvement from the 1-1 draw with Alfreton at the weekend, according to the Owls’ head coach.
He told swfc.co.uk: “For me, I wanted to see some progress after the game on Saturday because I did not think we showed enough aggression.
“But I saw a very good and better performance tonight. We were faster, we were more aggressive and I saw that in both halves.
“We must get better as each day goes by in pre-season and I am seeing that from the players.”
He continued: “There were some good individual performances tonight but I prefer to talk about the team.
“We played two teams and I was interested in the improvement from the weekend.
“At Alfreton, my book of paper was full with the mistakes we made and how we can do better.
“Tonight, I have plenty of room to go so I am happy!”
