The Owls formally introduced new head coach Carlos Carvalhal to the media at a packed press conference at Hillsborough on Thursday.
Chairman Dejphon Chansiri was also on hand to introduce the Portuguese, who handled the assembled journalists with some aplomb.
Television cameras from Sky, BBC and ITV were in attendance, together with national and local radio and written press.
Carvalhal covered a range of topics from past and present and also outlined his vision for the immediate future with Wednesday.
After being welcomed to Hillsborough by the chairman, the head coach said:
“Working in England is something I have dreamed of since I was a child.
“I am so very happy to be with Sheffield Wednesday and like everyone, I am here to succeed.
“My football philosophies match those of the chairman and we want everyone behind us with all our supporters packed into the stadium for our first match of the season against Bristol City.
“We are now working very hard on the training field, the players are giving everything towards the first game, which is the next game, and that is always the most important one.”
