The Sheffield Wednesday academy have embarked on a two-week pre-season tour of Portugal in preparation for the 2015/16 campaign.
The ground-breaking tour – facilitated by education funders Erasmus+* – sees the young Owls ensconced in a Vilamoura training camp.
The Under-18 scholars and Under-21 Development Squad landed late last week and kicked off training under the watchful eyes of coaches Neil Thompson and Steven Haslam.
The first week started with double sessions, focusing on strength and conditioning in the morning, followed in the afternoon by technical and tactical work.

*Erasmus+ is open to organisations across all sectors of education, training, youth and sport. Any public, private or not-for-profit organisation actively involved in these areas may apply for funding.
The overall programme objectives are to:
boost skills and employability
modernise education, training and youth work
