Owls supporter Nick Ward has successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
Nick was park of a small group of people to climb the 20,000 feet to the peak in just eight days.
Nick’s father suffered a heart attack on Christmas day 2014 but due to his quick and excellent treatment he survived and now is healthier than ever.
Nick, from Stocksbridge, Sheffield, said “It was a terrible period for all the family but due to the excellent work by the heart specialist team by Dad is still here and healthy. It was certainly the best Christmas present our family has ever received. If I can raise any money to help other people survive and help with their care then it is absolutely a worthwhile cause”
Coronary heart disease is the UK’s single biggest killer but the British heart foundation is leading the fight against it.
