Owls youngster pens professional contract

2 July 2015

Owls academy product Brad Beatson has signed his first professional contract at Hillsborough.

The central defender has put pen to paper on a one-year deal.

The 18-year-old has successfully worked his way through the youth ranks at the club and posted impressive performances last term for the Owls Under-21s.

Beatson said: “I’m really happy to sign for Sheffield Wednesday. I’ve worked hard and I’m delighted to get a professional contract at the end of my scholarship.

“I need to keep going now and keep playing well for the Under-21s and try to edge closer to the first team."

Owls academy coach Steven Haslam added: “It’s great news for Brad and it’s fully deserved. Over the last two seasons he has been a virtual ever-present for us.

“He’s stepped up to Under-21 level and performed well and the challenge for Brad is to kick on."
