Real Owls meet Owls fans at community day!

14 July 2015

The club’s annual family fun day is in just under a week and is expecting all sorts of visitors – including some extra special ones from the Tropical Butterfly House!

The butterfly house, who are based in North Anston and the number one day out according to TripAdvisor, are planning on bringing a host of tropical animals to the football club’s event including a royal python, a blue-tongued lizard, a rose tarantula and even a skunk!

An African spotted eagle and a tropical screech owl will be joining the rest of us Owls on the day!

There will be opportunities for visitors to hold and have their photos with the animals in return for a small donation. All proceeds will go towards the care of the animals at the Tropical Butterfly House.

Andrew Reeve, Zoo Curator and Centre Manager, said: “The Tropical Butterfly House and the Wildlife and Falconry Centre is very much looking forward to the Owls in the Park 2015 event.

“This will be our second year - at last year’s event the visitors, staff, and even the animals had an amazing time. With so much to do and see, it’s a great day out for families.”

Along with appearances from Wednesday players, other activities include live entertainment and music, a funfair, catering and fun games at various stalls around the park. The Owls’ mascots, Ozzie and Barney, will also make a special appearance!

Owls in the Park 2015 is free to attend and takes place on Sunday 19 July, starting at 11.00am and finishing at 5:30pm.

See you there!
