Sheffield charities ready for Owls in the Park

2 July 2015

Owls in the Park takes place in just over two weeks and our main benefiting charities are gearing up for the big day.

Sheffield charities Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, St. Luke's Hospice, The Royal Society for the Blind (SRSB) and Support Dogs will be in attendance at the family event and each have a big presence on the day.

Owls in the Park 2015 is free to attend and takes place on Sunday 19 July, starting at 11.00am and finishing at 5:00pm.

The charities will be holding fundraising activities from lucky dips to obstacle courses to raffles to Support Dogs holding the largest dog show in South Yorkshire!

Bluebell Wood will be holding a stall and a brand new game ‘The Fish Bowl Challenge’. Charity volunteers will also be doing bucket collections throughout the event.

The SRSB will be holding a teddy bear parachute to raise funds for the organisation.

The charity mascots will also be taking part in a special mascot race on the day.

The club is extremely proud to facilitate the charities in their fundraising appeals and hope that as much money as possible is raised on the day.

As well as supporting the above charities around 20 organisations are expected at the event that attracts more than 15,000 people throughout the day.

Matt Bray, Social Inclusion Manager, said: “Sheffield Wednesday are proud to host Owls in the Park and the fact that so many deserving charities can be involved is great. We always look forward to seeing what the charities bring to the day and this year’s event is set to be the best yet!”

Last year’s event raised in excess of £5,000 so we hope this year, we can not only match that but raise even more for the beneficiaries.

See you there!
