Last Friday, Sheffield Wednesday hosted the club’s corporate golf day, which saw the club’s corporate sponsors take part in a key event that raised funds for both charity and the Owls Foundation.
The annual tournament, held at Abbeydale Golf Club, Sheffield, saw teams of four compete in an 18-hole stableford.
Former Wednesday stars David Hirst, John Pearson, Jon Newsome, Peter Eustace, Nicky Weaver, Imre Varadi and Greg Fee represented the Owls on the day.
And our congratulations go to the team from Owlerton Stadium who were the event winners!
The day included competitions ‘Nearest the Pin’ and ‘Longest Drive’, a three-course meal, a raffle and prize presentations.
A ‘Hit the Green’ challenge also took place to raise money for the Cavendish Cancer Care charity.
Club partners Heineken sponsored the ‘Half Way House’ which saw participants enjoy a beer or cold drink midway through the route.
Funds raised at the popular event will also go towards the Owls Foundation, which aids the development of young players at the Sheffield Wednesday academy.
Everyone at SWFC would like to say thank you to all who took part and to the hole sponsors for making the day the success it was.
