Owls new recruit Ross Wallace is excited by the challenge ahead after joining the Hillsborough revolution.
The 30-year-old, who has twice won promotion to the Premier League with former clubs Sunderland and Burnley, is eager to get started with Wednesday.
With bags of experience under the belt at Championship level, Wallace is aiming to bring that and more to S6 and earn in a place in the starting eleven come Saturday 8 August.
He told swfc.co.uk: “I needed a fresh start after leaving Burnley last season and I’m looking forward to getting back playing again.
“I can’t wait to get started with the new coach. The main thing is this club has big ambitions to get to the Premier League and I want to help achieve that.
“I think I’ve got a lot to give, Sheffield Wednesday showed an interest and hopefully I can help get things going at this club.
“I’ve got a lot of experience, especially in the Championship. With three teams, I’ve been promoted twice so I think I’ve been successful at this level.”
Ahead of linking up with his new team mates, Wallace says he feels fresh and ready to go and added:
“I want to come here and play and I’ll be working hard along with the rest of the players to try and get my name on the team sheet for the first game of the season.
“I didn’t play as much as I wanted to last season and I want to get started again, I feel fresh and ready to go and hopefully this move will be my best.”
