Sheffield Wednesday are pleased to confirm details for the Grassroots Community Programme Scheme for the 2015/16 season, which will see hundreds of young people like the youngsters from local youth group, Stannington Explorers, enjoy matchday activities and benefits.

The scheme invites groups of youngsters of all backgrounds to engage with Sheffield Wednesday, who will offer significant benefits via the project in return, including discounted match tickets with cashback for junior clubs and money can’t buy experiences on the Hillsborough pitch.
As part of their matchday experience the Stannington Explorers took part in matchday activities including a lap of honour at half-time.
Michelle Evans from the group said: “The day was fantastic and everyone enjoyed being part of the matchday activities and for some of our members it was their first ever football match. The kids said it was an unforgettable and memorable day that has made them want to go back to Hillsborough in the future.”
“The day was so good that we’re hoping to do it again this season. It’s great for young people to get involved in and is an experience they’ll never forget. Thanks to everyone at Sheffield Wednesday for making it happen.”
The scheme is available to local sports clubs, youth groups and schools and juniors, coaches and parents who will then enjoy the benefits as a results.
