The Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme are on the lookout for 16-year-olds to take part in a unique residential programme where they will receive first class football coaching and guidance.

The camp, which runs for four weeks in August, gives young people the chance to work with experienced coaches from the Community Programme to develop and work on skills to become a coach in the future.

See below for the programme itinerary: 

Week 1 – Sheffield Wednesday training camp - Monday 3 August – Friday 7 August – two coaching sessions a day from Sheffield Wednesday coaches to build technical and tactical skills.

Week 2 –Residential week and training sessions - Monday 10 August – Friday 14 August - includes all food, drink, accommodation, activities and transport.

Week 3 – Residential week – Monday 17 August – Friday 21 August. Participants will take part in a First Aid course, sports leaders’ course, training sessions and all food, drink and accommodation will be provided.

Week 4 – Monday 24 August – Friday 28 August. Participants will enjoy a week’s worth of work experience coaching on selected Community Programme Summer Soccer Schools

The comprehensive four-week programme costs £75 per person (course limited to 30 people only) and is available to those aged 16.

A game will be arranged within the four weeks between all participants where Sheffield Wednesday scouts will be in attendance.
