Caolan's chance will come

1 June 2015

Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill has urged Caolan Lavery to continue impressing for the Owls and says his chance will come on the international stage.

The striker was an unused substitute in Northern Ireland’s 1-1 draw with future World Cup hosts Qatar on Sunday at Crewe’s Gresty Road.

The Irish are well on course to qualify for Euro 2016 and on that front, face a crunch clash against Romania later this month.

O’Neill said: “Caolan is one that will continue to develop with us and if his club career continues the way it’s going, then obviously he is going to push to stay in the squad and then it is up to him if he can push to be a starter.”
