A graduate from the Sheffield Wednesday Education Programme has gone onto successfully gain full time employment with the club’s Community Programme.
Adam Ledger studied on the club’s NVQ Sports course and after completion Adam became a full time member of staff for the Community Programme. Adam has recently landed the role of the ‘Assistant NCS Co-ordinator’ with the NCS team at the club.
To further his education, last year Adam started the Foundation Degree in Community Football Coaching and Development and has gained a majority of first class grades across all his work.
The course, which gives students a chance to gain real work experience in the community as well as theory, is based at the club’s ground and provides students an alternative setting to school or college and gives students a chance to progress on to a full honours degree.
Ricky Hunt, Curriculum Leader for the Education Programme, said: “Adam is a great example of how studying as well as showing a great work ethic can lead to full time employment with progressions to enhance his career.”
The Education programme still has places available on the Foundation Degree for September. For more details contact education@swfc.co.uk for more details.
