With Kieran Lee having put pen to paper on a two-year contract extension at Hillsborough, Stuart Gray has expressed his delight.
The head coach was always confident the Owls would retain the services of Lee, who proved a key performer through the 2014/15 campaign.
Gray told swfc.co.uk: “You want to get it over the line and get the signature on the contract. We’ve done that now and I’m delighted.
“We made our intentions clear with Kieran early doors and it’s good business for the football club.”
Speaking of the values Lee brings on board, Gray added:
“We certainly have a goalscoring midfielder here now because Kieran added that to his game last season.
“But the most important thing is what he brings to the team. He’s box to box, he’s very comfortable in possession and like I say, he’s added goals to his game as well.
“He has a great habit of putting the miles in on the pitch, which is what you need from your midfielders.”
