Glenn Loovens has signed a one-year contract extension with Sheffield Wednesday.
The experienced Dutchman has made 54 appearances for the Owls in total since his switch to Hillsborough in November 2013.
Loovens played an instrumental role at the heart of the Owls’ backline last term and forged one of the meanest central defensive partnerships in the Championship alongside Tom Lees.
Wednesday equalled a long-standing club record set in 1978/79 by posting 17 clean sheets.
The 31-year-old, who led the Owls as captain last season, has now committed to Wednesday for a further year until the summer of 2016.
