The Owls hosted Sky Sports this morning as work on the club’s brand new Desso pitch gathers pace.
The summer-long process began following Wednesday’s final home game of last season against Leeds and is just ahead of schedule as attention starts to focus on the 2015/16 campaign.
The Sky cameras caught up with John Rutherford, Stadium Operations Manager at Hillsborough, and John Hewitt, who is overseeing the project from the contractor’s side.
Rutherford said: “The new pitch was a priority for the chairman and I am pleased to say we are making excellent progress.
“The Desso work is almost complete and the seeding process begins on Monday.”
Hewitt added: “This will be the best quality pitch there can be. We have laid these pitches at some of the top stadia across Europe and you really just cannot get better.”
