Friday 12 June 1936 saw the birth of a true Sheffield Wednesday legend – the one and only Don Megson.
The defender and skipper signed professional forms with the Owls in 1953 before going on represent the Owls until 1970.
Megson made 442 league and cup appearances, chipping in with seven goals.
Arguably the finest left back ever to represent Wednesday, the Cheshire product captained the club to Wembley for the 1966 FA Cup final, where he led his team on an unprecedented lap of honour after the Owls went down 3-2.
