Yesterdays: Owls run riot over the Robins

17 June 2015

Wednesday now know they will face Bristol City at Hillsborough on the opening day of the season.

It will be the first meeting between the two sides since the 2012/13 Championship term when City were relegated to League 1.

But following a fantastic campaign last time out under manager Steve Cotterill, the Robins gained promotion back to the second tier with an impressive haul of 99 points.

With the curtain raiser now set on Saturday 8 August as Wednesday v the Robins, swfc.co.uk takes a look back at a memorable meeting between the two sides during the Owls’ 2004/05 promotion campaign.

The Owls headed to Ashton Gate in late November 2004 and stunned the Robins to post their third successive league victory.

Goals from Adam Proudlock (2), Chris Brunt and Patrick Collins sealed a 4-1 win over City and the goals are available to watch below from the Owls’ YouTube channel.
