Stuart Gray hailed the impact of all three of his substitutes following the stunning win at Rotherham on Saturday.
The Owls’ head coach sent on Caolan Lavery, Stevie May and Chris Maguire, all of whom played key roles as Wednesday twice came from behind to snatch an incredible victory.
Gray said: “I knew before the game that the substitutes would have an impact today because of the way Rotherham play.
“Whether it was chasing the game or whether we were winning, I said to the substitutes ‘make sure you are ready’ and make a mark when you come on.
“All three did that and I’m delighted for those lads and all of the team.
“I think maybe it effected Rotherham psychologically and gave us the edge at a time when we needed it.
“They gave us a spark and credit to them.
“I have always said that games can often be decided by the team that finishes a game and not the one that starts it.”
